I awoke at 2am, needing a bath and unable to sleep. Spent time lazing around and trying on clothes as usual, then went to play w my hammies Elmo punk and James Allen. Elmo loves to run on my bed and bite at the bedsheets and the blankets. She also loves chewing on leather and rubber products. Once she started doing that more frequently, i guessed that she was hungry and brought up her food trough. She promptly stuffed her mouth w morsels of grain and other hammy food assortments, filling up the pouches of her cheeks such that they bulged and were wider than her tiny body. As i watched her doing all this, she eyed me suspiciously, perhaps wondering if would take away the food from her, and carefully monitored the movement of my fingers, jerking to making sure that she had my hand within her view. I stroked her on the head, this dear little precious critter, and observed her cracking sunflower seeds, first by picking them and flicking them such that the top faced her, and then biting it to remove the shell, before finally pushing the seed into her mouth. For other cereal bits, she held them with her tiny paws and bit them or stuffed the whole thing into her mouth. Finally, when she was done, she eyed me again, and looked for a place to alight from her trough. Deciding on one, she jumped out and proceeded to look for a place to keep her food. I started to wonder if all this stuffing of food was for her journey to the Great Australian Desert (a place all hammies are supposed to be instinctively inclined to go, but i doubt that cos some hammies come from Russia, and there is no Great Aussieland desert there). But before she could her "journey", i decided to put her back into her cage, in case she decided not to travel anymore, and start eating on my bed.

We then proceeded to fetch James Allen, who looked hungry, so i passed him one of Elmo's sunflower seeds. That wasn't well received by Elmo, who squeaked at him when i brought him to her, but it might be due to other reasons. Elmo didn't like sharing the attention i guess, and on the way back to the cage, she threw a tantrum and kicked her nuts out of the trough. That' elmo punk for you. Highly lovable, but a tad spoilt and pesky. I guess that makes her even more lovable as well though--- it's part of her charm.

After that, it was MY turn for some feeding. I think i have learnt how to cook rather well. I may have started pretty late--- probably one of the rare few who learnt to cook instant noodles only at 18--- but i must say that i've learnt pretty fast. My specialities are meat dishes and Western food. I cook a rather good:

1. Chilli and tomato tuna salad
2. Thin meats such as ham and bacon, as well as sausages
3. Mashed potato--- the ready-mix sort

Heheh, I have become quite a hand at preserved food. David's still the best in this, but i'm up and coming!
